There are a million different things that a girl needs on prom day, but how much should we actually pack in our prom purse? To help you narrow it down, Sophia’s has put together a list of the necessities. Of course, these items are just suggestions and are not required for prom, but we just wanted to look out for our prom ladies.
Starting at the top of the list, you should triple check that you're prom ticket and phone are in your bag. Some schools have electronic tickets, so it is extremely important for you to bring your phone/ticket, so you can actually get into the dance you’ve been prepping all season for. You also don't want to forget your phone because all night long, you are going to want to snap pictures with all your beautiful friends! It’s also always a good idea to carry a little bit of money on you, so you could grab some food or make any last minute purchases before prom. Another good item, that Sophia's suggests for you to have in your purse, is a little bit of makeup. You never know when you are going to want to freshen up, so this will help you whenever it's needed!
Toiletries are also a must! It’s always good to be prepared, so include band-aids, in-case of blisters or small cuts, deodorant & perfume to stay smelling fresh during all that dancing, and finally, feminine products. These are important for you just in case you need them, or so you can help another girl out who is in need!
We all know that keeping your hair perfect all night is nearly impossible. So in order to keep the flyaways down, you should throw in a travel size hairspray bottle and some bobby pins to keep the hair beast tame! If you want to go the extra mile you could also add in extra earring backs, so if your earring falls out, you don’t have to spend time trying to find the back. You can just reach in your purse, pop on another back, and get back to the fun!
For the girls who are minimalists, that opt out of a purse, you could always throw the important things you need, like you're ID, prom ticket, money, and a small tube of lipstick in an ID case holder! Vera Bradley sells these for anywhere between $8-$24. There are tons of different styles to choose from, so you could color coordinate with your dress or just pick something you like that way you can use it after prom too! As mentioned before, these are just some suggestions we have put together for you, but if we've missed something or you have ideas yourself- We want to hear them!
